What does AAA grading mean for Tahitian loose parels?
AAA is the highest grade: surface clean to 95%+ with spiegelglans, near-round to perfectly round shape, and uniforme ondertonen. AA parels have 85%+ schoon oppervlak and high (but not mirror) glans. Lower grades (A, B) have zichtbare onvolkomenheden and are sold at significant korting.

These parels come uit Pinctada margaritifera, the zwartlippig oyster native to Frans-Polynesië. Most of our stock is afkomstig uit the Mangareva and Marutea atolls, where the lagune's mineral profile reliably yields the deepest peacock and zilver-blue ondertonen. Sizes in current stock run 8mm to 14mm in 1mm increments, with the 9–11 mm band most-requested voor custom strand work. We grade each loose parel on the standard AAA-AA-A-schaal: AAA is spiegelglans, surface 95% clean, near-round to round shape; AA is high glans, surface 85% clean, near-round acceptable.
