Welke Zuidzeeparels?

Zuidzeeparels are produced by Pinctada maxima oyster. They are cultivated in Australië, the Filipijnen, Indonesië and Myanmar.

There are two main colors of Zuidzeeparels: Gouden Zuidzeeparels are cultivated in the Filipijnen and Indonesië. Witte Zuidzeeparels are cultivated in Australië, although there are some small farms in the Filipijnen.

Zuidzeeparels are the largest parels in the world, their average maat ranges from 9 to 20 mm, although parels larger than 17 mm are extremely difficult to find and not on the market.

Zuidzeeparels are lustrous and beautiful. Features that influence the price of Zuidzeeparels are: maat, Vorm:, kleur, glans, Surface, Nacre and if they are well gematcht.

Gouden Zuidzeeparels are the most appreciated type of parel in the world, especially in Asia.

The value of Gouden Zuidzeeparels depends on it´s color. The colour should be golden, not yellowish. The deeper, the better.
